3-5 star hotels in Oman receive more than 298,000 guests

Muscat:  The total number of guests in the (3-5) star category in the Sultanate till the end of March 2021 stood at 298,885 compared to 390,642 guests for the same period of 2020, comprising a decline by 23.5 percent.

The total revenues of these hotels also fell to OMR21.274 million in March 2021, compared to OMR53.747 million during the same period of the previous year, marking a drop by 60.4 percent.

Among the nationalities, the Omani guests constituted the highest number of visitors with 85.1 percent to stand at 208,404 guests compared to 112,609 guests in the same period in 2020. This was followed by Asian guests with 44,506, European guests with 13,257, Arab guests (excluding GCC countries) with 12,423 and the guests from America with 5,199.

The number of GCC guests reached 4,104 followed by the Oceanian guests with 2,090, the Africans with 1,192 guests and 7,710 guests from other nationalities.
